The Revelry

An adaptive re-use project that transformed vacated downtown church multi-tenant activity hub

Dating from 1910 and located in Missoula’s urban core, low attendance and high maintenance costs required the Baptist community to sell their property and consolidate with another local congregation. Consisting of two sanctuary spaces, five classrooms, and several offices built from 1910 through 1960, deferred maintenance had taken its toll on the original woodwork and ornate finishes. Thankfully, a progressive developer saw the huge redevelopment potential of the parcel.

As an adaptive re-use project, the building has been transformed into a multi-tenant activity hub. Upgraded mechanical and electrical systems, new space configurations and restrooms, and life-safety  and accessibility upgrades were designed to preserve the beauty of the historic structure. Regardless of religious beliefs, the iconic spaces of this complex tell a story of Missoula’s past that should be maintained and transformed to reflect Missoula’s future.
